Jim Sorenson

Jim: “Star Trek was definitely an influence on how the humans were treated
The idea was that Cybertronian society stagnated for millions of years, and then they came to Earth and both the autobots and decepticons had an explosion of innovation. Meanwhile, on earth, we had the industrial revolution and when from horse drawn carriages to exploring local space in just a couple hundred years. So I figured the innovation was clearly coming from the humans, not the robots. Ergo, humans should surpass Cybertronian tech in the time gap between G1 and Beast Wars.
Aside from being logical, i thought it was a fun inversion of the usual trope of advanced aliens and primitive humans”
